Laurel Carnovsky celebrates Women in Trade Day holding her Cable Cutter.

WITDW: Briefly tell us about your favourite tool, how important it is. Why and when you use it?

Laurel: The tool I'm holding is Greenlee Cable Cutters. Cable cutters are used for cutting cables when ready for termination. These are important to carrying out a task when more leverage is needed to cut through a wire/cable.

WITDW: How will you be celebrating the day?

Laural: I will be working hard and reaching out to women I know in the trades to celebrate being strong women in this community.

WITDW: What tips can you give to someone wishing to get into your trade?

Laurel: You have to be determined and willing to work hard, learn new things to effectively problem solve. But most importantly, be consistent, show up, and don't give up. Everyone has to start somewhere, it's just a matter of when you decide to get started.

WITDW:  If you had a superpower, what would it be and how would you use it to change the world?

Laurel: I would probably choose teleportation. And I would use it to save the world by teleporting to areas of those who are suppressed or in rough areas and offer them help, food, and shelter. Maybe even teleport them somewhere else within the world if needed.
